Canadian Speed Skating elite in Winnipeg for Speed Skating Canada’s 2015 Annual General Meeting
Olympic medalist Susan Auch from Winnipeg, Denny Morrison and Éric Bédard, as well as Ivanie Blondin will be on hand
Winnipeg, MB - Canada’s Speed Skating elite will gather in Winnipeg, MB, on June 18-20, 2015, for Speed Skating Canada’s Annual General Meeting.
The event, which will be held at the Hilton Winnipeg Airport Suites, will bring together close to 100 Speed Skating Canada employees and committee members, provincial association members and Olympians.
Among them, double Olympic medalist Susan Auch from Winnipeg, MB, now Speed Skating Canada vice president, triple Olympic medalist Denny Morrison, who won two of his medals in Sochi in 2014, and four-time Short Track Olympic medalist Éric Bédard, now the Short Track High Performance Manager at Calgary’s Olympic Oval, will attend.
Morrison and Ivanie Blondin, who were respectiveley crowned 2014-2015 World Cup 1500m and Mass Start overall champion, will attend the Annual Awards Dinner on the evening of Friday, June 20th. On this occasion, Speed Skating Canada will give out its awards, including those going out to the Male and Female Long Track and Short Track Speed Skaters of the Year.
Also, among the participants, 20 will take part in Speed Skating Canada’s 2015 Coaching Symposium, a two-day coaching development event set to include several workshops. In addition, 17 other coaches will attend the Competition-Development Pilot workshop as part of the National Coaching Certification Program.
