Olympic Oval Athlete Bursary Fund
The Olympic Oval Athlete Bursary Fund was started in 2005 by Olympic gold medalist and Canadian speed skating legend Catriona Le May Doan. Catriona felt it was important to have a bursary in place that would provide speed skating athletes with assistance in offsetting living and training expenses. The philosophy behind the bursary is to support athletes who consistently demonstrate a high performance mentality, who have a long term commitment to the sport and who are committed members to the Olympic Oval High Performance Pathway.  This bursary directly supports the Olympic Oval’s vision to “…drive the mission of Canadian athlete podium performances.”
