COVID-19 Public Skating

Due to COVID-19 and Alberta Health Services guidelines, there is no public skating until further notice.

Ice Skating at the Olympic Oval

The Olympic Oval is working hard with Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary to determine the safest possible public skating return. We will keep everyone updated as information becomes available.

The Olympic Oval typically offers more than 50 public skating sessions per month on our 400-meter oval ice. The Olympic Oval provides groups of 15 or more a discount on public skating entry fees and skate rental. Contact Oval Guest Relations for GROUP BOOKING details. Don't forget that the Skate Shop rents hockey and speed skates for use within the Olympic Oval. Available sizes range from child's 8 to adult 12. The shop can also help with all your skate sharpening and servicing needs!

Helmets Rule!

Helmets Rule! Helmets are MANDATORY for all ages during public skating. Skaters who do not have their helmets can rent one from the Olympic Oval Skate Shop for $2.50. Protect your brain, skate smart!

Any sport approved helmet with a chin strap is allowed (i.e. bike helmet, ski helmet, equestrian riding helmet). Scrum caps and halos are NOT allowed.

*IMPORTANT: Be sure to view the Public Waiver below before attending.
